Features

• Three Infiniband Multilane 4X 4-channel SFF-8470 external female connectors, thumbscrew-type.
• Compatible with all 3.5" SATA hard drives, including 3TB, that are compatible with the controller.
• For JBOD operation, you can use the LSI HBA which has sufficient external connectors. RAID controllers do not, so two connection methods are supported, both requiring a controller with three SFF-8087 internal connectors:
  1. An Areca SATA, 3ware or LSI controller with three internal SFF-8087 connectors that can adjust the link speed, to be used with an internal to external adapter bracket that is installed right next to the controller (For SAS drives, link speed adjustment is not necessary so you are not limited to these controllers.)
  2. Any controller using SFF-8087 to SFF-8470 internal to external cables, with cables permanently attached to the controller. This method restricts the external available cable length to about 2ft.
• Trayless operation - the slots will accept bare SATA drives for hotswapping.
