SAS Expander Enclosures & Accessories
SAS Expanders allow you to maximize the storage capability of your SAS controller card. With only 4 or 8 ports, many SAS controllers actually support up to 128 hard drives, and this can only be achieved via a SAS expander enclosure solution.
PC PitStop's SAS expander enclosures use the industry leading Areca ARC-8026 expander modules. The ARC-8026 has three SFF-8088 ports, one or two can be used to connect to the controller card, while the rest can be used to daisy-chain additional enclosures. When you need more capacity, just add another enclosure to the chain - no more worrying about putting in a new controller card to handle the additional drives. SAS expanders and controllers also work with low-cost SATA-III hard drives. We use high-quality Zippy server-class power supplies in our enclosures, and every rackmount expander enclosure has a 3 year warranty.
