SAS Expander Enclosures & Accessories
SAS Expanders allow you to maximize the storage capability of your SAS controller card. Many SAS controllers support up to 128 hard drives, and this can only be achieved via a SAS expander enclosure solution.
PC PitStop's SAS expander enclosures use the industry leading Areca ARC-8020 expander module. The ARC-8020 has three SFF-8088 ports; one IN-port and two OUT-ports. The IN-port connects to the controller card while the OUT-ports are used for daisy-chaining to additional expander enclosures. When you need more capacity, just add another enclosure to the chain. No more worrying about putting in a new controller card to handle the additional drives. SAS expanders and controllers also work with low-cost SATA-II hard drives. We use high-quality Zippy server-class power supplies in our enclosures, and every expander enclosure has a 3 year warranty.
