Open-E Storage Software

Open-E Data Storage Server (DSS), NAS and iSCSI software offers an easy to implement enterprise-class storage solution utilizing existing computer hardware. If you have an internal USB port on your motherboard, 2GB RAM, a supported network card and a supported RAID controller, you are in good shape.

Open-E comes on a USB DOM (Disk On Module) and is installed on an internal USB port on your motherboard. The module plugs into the actual USB pins on the board. The modules come in 4, 8 and 16TB license configurations initially, and can be expanded as your storage needs grow. If you already have a system laying around and don't want to spend thousands on a new storage subsystem, then Open-E is a good choice for you.
