Network Attached Storage (NAS)
Network Attached Storage systems are external enclosures utilizing SATA & IDE hard drives attached to a network rather than directly being connected to the computer. This enables multiple computers to share the same storage space at once, which minimizes overhead by centrally managing hard disks. Most units also feature built in RAID controllers.
